Sailport Plc Mayflower Marina
£43,000 FTE depending on qualifications and experience
Full-time, Permanent
Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, this well-established and distinguished marina provides fully serviced berthing for both resident and visiting vessels. Alongside its marina operations, the business offers a range of complementary marine services designed to support its customers’ needs. The company also manages a diverse commercial property portfolio, including a popular waterfront restaurant, retail units, and workshop facilities, creating a vibrant and dynamic marine environment.
Sailport Plc, the company that owns and operates Mayflower Marina, occupies a unique position within the marina sector. We are a truly independent Marina where many berth holders are also shareholders in the company, creating a strong sense of community and ownership.
Due to an upcoming retirement, we are seeking an experienced Company Accountant to take ownership of the finance function, including the responsibilities of Company Secretary and elements of the HR function. Working closely with the team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust governance and compliance standards, and providing insight to support strategic decision-making.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a varied role within a well-established and financially secure business. Beyond the role itself, the setting is exceptional. From your workspace, you’ll enjoy views across a vibrant marina environment featuring beautifully maintained waterfront facilities, luxury yachts, historic naval architecture around Stonehouse, passing Royal Navy vessels, and the iconic Cremyll Ferry crossing the harbour. Few finance roles can offer such a distinctive and inspiring working environment.
While this is not a primarily customer-facing role, you will be expected, like all members of the Mayflower Marina team, to contribute to delivering an exceptional customer experience. In keeping with our Five Gold Anchor accreditation, we aim to treat every customer as we might our own friends and family. A willingness to support this customer-focused culture and engage positively with berth holders, tenants, visitors and colleagues is an important part of the role.
