These terms and conditions override any contrary Terms or Conditions published by the UK Harbour Masters’ Association and its trading partners in relation to any membership subscription.
Definitions and interpretation
1.1 The following terms have the references set out below:
“UK Harbour Masters’ Association” and “UKHMA” refer to the Harbour Masters’ Association of the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, and, where appropriate, to include trading partners in commercial activities;
“Council” refers to the governing body of the UKHMA;
“Members” or “Membership” shall mean the collective of all or some of the Members of the UKHMA of whatever category;
“Membership Period” means a period of twelve calendar months (or other period where expressly agreed with the UKHMA);
“We” and “our” refers to the UKHMA.
Words denoting the singular number shall include the plural number and vice versa and words denoting the masculine gender shall include the feminine gender.
Membership Benefits
2.1 Membership packages vary according to the grade of membership held. The details of current membership packages can be found here.
2.2 The UKHMA reserves the right to change the benefits that apply to membership at any time and without prior notice, subject to approval by Council.
2.3 Membership benefits accorded to a single Member cannot be shared across multiple individuals.
2.4 Each Member is responsible for updating their contact and employment details and may be required to endorse their entitlement to a specific Member category at the discretion of Council. Members may update your details via the online Member List function or by contacting admin@ukhma.org.
2.5 Membership shall not guarantee reservations at UKHMA events or meetings. Early booking is recommended as applications will normally be addressed on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
2.6 Refunds or partial refunds for cancellations at UKHMA events will be governed by the specific terms and conditions of each event. A reservation shall only be confirmed by the payment of a booking invoice or issue of a receipted invoice by the event’s organisers, the UKHMA.
2.7 Membership subscriptions are non-refundable in all instances.
Membership Contract
3.1 Membership subscription rates and conditions are subject to change on an annual basis.
3.2 When submitting an application for membership or membership renewal whether online or by some other means, you will be required to accept these terms and conditions.
3.3 Once the contract has been created you will be liable to pay the membership subscription.
3.4 Your 12 calendar month membership for the Membership Period will start from the date of first invoice and once payment has been received and verified.
3.5 Your membership will be due for renewal at the end of the Membership Period and a renewal notice with invoice will be issued within one calendar month prior from the end of the Membership Period.
3.6 Non-payment of invoice will result in lapse in membership after 30 calendar days from the invoice date.
Cancellation and Refund
4.1 Cancellation of membership can be made in writing to admin@ukhma.org.
4.2 The UKHMA will assume that you do not wish to renew your membership if payment is not received by the due date.
4.3 Membership fees are not refundable on cancellation.
