Description
Two categories of Affiliate membership exist:
Affiliate Member Overseas (AMO)
Member qualifies as an Affiliate Member: Overseas (AMO) if:
- he is a serving Harbour Master with prime responsibility, as set out in the Port Marine Safety Code, for a harbour in a defined British Overseas Territory or he serves as a deputy for a serving AMO; or,
- he is a previously-serving FM1 or FM2 or Full Member, now residing temporarily or permanently outside the UK
All other overseas applicants for Membership shall be referred to the International Harbour Masters’ Association. An AMO shall be entitled to receive notice of and to attend general meetings but shall not be entitled to vote on issues put to a ballot. An AMO shall have restricted access to Member areas of the UKHMA website.
