An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marine Pilot with with the Port of Milford Haven.
We are a leading UK shipping gateway handling liquid, bulk, break bulk and heavy lift cargoes. Known as the UK’s largest energy port, we are capable of delivering 30% of the UK gas demand and we welcome some of the largest vessels (LNG) in world.
As a Marine Pilot you will have the conduct of vessels to ensure safe movement from sea, berth and anchorage. This will include facilitating the completion of the vessel’s passage plan; liaising with Master, Port Control and other users and acting as the Port’s representative on board in the event of an emergency. You will start as a Trainee Pilot and progress through levels of authorisation up to a Class 1 Pilot, which ordinarily takes five and a half years.
