Salary: PS 36-38  –  $118,643.75 – $127,618.66 (=US$ Equivalent)

The Fleet Manager is accountable for the provision of efficient and effective operations management, engineering and technical services for the Department and Marine & Ports Services’ fleet of vessels (i.e. Tugs, Tenders, Ferries, Pilot and Rescue boats, etc.), in accordance with the appropriate marine legislation, regulations, international agreements and conventions. This is inclusive of the fleet’s utilization, maintenance and repair services. The post is also responsible for the management and provision of Nautical training and development programmes for staff. The post holder also is accountable for managing the expenditure budget for the section and carrying out administrative and human resources management duties, including the overall supervision of section staff (i.e. BPSU and BIU staff).

The post-holder must possess a minimum of Class One Engineering Certificate of Competency or equivalent and a Superintendent Certificate. The post holder should also possess a minimum of (5) years’ relevant post-qualification management and supervisory experience in marine operations, inclusive of managing technical and engineering marine services (e.g. managing the provision of planned maintenance services).

Due to the nature of the job, the post holder will be on call 24 hours per day, year round.
