Deputy Marine Operations Manager/Pilot – Port of Cromarty Firth

Our success to date has been achieved by embracing new industries and enhancing our infrastructure, to capitalise on opportunities and growth markets. As a result we have an immediate need for a Deputy Marine Operations Manager/Pilot.

Based in Invergordon, you’ll work within the marine operations team planning & managing marine operations. You will be responsible for daily management of Port Radio & the Pilotage Services, including training towards Class 1 licence, and providing out-of-hours marine management & emergency response. In addition you’ll support & work with colleagues across the business in project planning, reviewing procedures, policies, plans and data to ensure marine operations are undertaken in full compliance with Port Marine Safety Code.

About you:

• STCW II/2 (Masters unlimited) Certificate of Competency – applicants with lesser qualifications may be considered based on relevant experience
• Previous pilotage experience (desirable)
• UK Harbour Master Certificate (desirable)
• Valid ENG1 (or equivalent)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven people management experience
• A great team player, being flexible and adaptable, paying attention to details, and having drive and ambition
• Desirable Qualities – Experience in Emergency planning – Exercise and Incident planning
• MCA Oil Spill Contingency certification
• Knowledge of management systems/CRM/SharePoint
